Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) -

An FMEA is oftenthe first step of a system reliability study. It involves reviewing as many components, subsystems as possible to identify failure moes, and their causes and effects.

Production part approval process (PPAP) -

is used in the automotive supply chain for establishing confidence in component suppliers and their production process, by means of demonstrating that all customer engineering deign record and specificaion requirements are properly inderstood by the supplier and that the process has the potential to produce product consistently meeting these requirements during an actual production run at the quoted production rate.
